What it solves

Exo is an AI-native desktop email client designed to reduce the cognitive load of managing an inbox. Instead of treating AI as a plugin, it integrates AI into the core workflow to automatically triage, prioritize, and draft responses to emails before the user even opens them.

How it works

Built with Electron, React, and TypeScript, Exo connects to Gmail via API and uses Anthropic's Claude to analyze incoming mail. It employs a memory system to learn a user's writing style and preferences from sent mail and manual overrides. The system includes an agentic framework where a "Cmd+J" palette allows users to assign tasks to Claude, which can then use tools to search Gmail, read/update drafts, or delegate tasks to external third-party agents and MCP servers.
