What it solves

TRex is a macOS utility that allows users to copy text from any part of their screen, regardless of whether the text is selectable. This solves the problem of manually retyping text from non-selectable sources like PDFs, images, YouTube videos, or Zoom calls.

How it works

Users invoke a "Capture" command via the menu bar or a global shortcut. They then select a screen area (similar to taking a screenshot), and the app uses Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to extract the text and place it directly into the clipboard.
