ad-naan/Adnify

A local‑first AI Agent IDE that plans, edits, debugs and ships projects. Your clever otter‑flavored coding teammate.🦦

What it solves

Adnify is an AI-native engineering workspace that integrates code editing, AI-driven execution, asset generation, and browser verification into a single desktop application. It aims to replace the fragmented workflow of switching between an IDE, a terminal, a browser, and an AI chat interface by providing a unified environment where AI agents can directly implement and verify their own changes.

How it works

Adnify uses a multi-process architecture (Electron) to isolate the UI from heavy compute tasks like indexing and database management. It features two primary AI workflows:

  • Agent Mode: A continuous context thread where the AI can ask questions, edit files, run terminal commands, and search documentation.
  • Plan Mode: A structured workbench that transforms requirements into a dependency-aware task graph. This allows users to review the plan, allocate specific models to tasks, and validate results before they are finalized.

To ensure reliability, it employs "Worktree Execution Lanes," using separate Git checkouts for parallel tasks to avoid conflicts, and utilizes LSP (Language Server Protocol) for code intelligence and diagnostics.

Who it’s for

It is designed for software engineers and developers who want a more integrated, agentic AI coding experience that goes beyond simple autocomplete or chat, allowing for governed, multi-agent planning and autonomous implementation.

Highlights

  • Governed Planning: A four-stage workbench (Requirement $\rightarrow$ Plan $\rightarrow$ Run $\rightarrow$ Result) for reviewing AI-generated task graphs.
  • Browser Verification: Built-in Chromium-based preview that allows AI agents to inspect the DOM, capture screenshots, and interact with the page to verify frontend changes.
  • Integrated Asset Generation: Ability to connect external HTTP APIs to generate images, video, and audio directly within AI tasks.
  • Worktree Isolation: Uses separate Git branches and checkouts for concurrent AI edits to prevent code corruption.
  • Extensible Ecosystem: Support for MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, custom "Skills," and migration of settings from other AI editors like Cursor or Claude Desktop.
  • Professional Editor: Based on the Monaco Editor with full LSP support for multiple languages and integrated Git version control.
