Hermes Agent skills and plugins: 350+ tools, memory providers, and guides for Nous Research's agent.

What it is

awesome-hermes-skills is a curated list of "skills," plugins, and other add-ons for Hermes Agent — an AI assistant from Nous Research that can write its own skills, search past conversations, and run on anything from a laptop to a GPU cluster. This project saves you from hunting around: it gathers ready-to-install skills (small capability modules), plugins, agent profiles, memory providers, and tools, all vetted for quality.

What's inside

  • 82 built-in skills — already included when you install Hermes, covering things like Apple Notes, GitHub workflows, PDF editing, YouTube transcripts, and more.
  • 117 optional skills — shipped with Hermes but turned off by default, so you only enable what you need (e.g., blockchain, finance modeling, advanced creative tools).
  • 169 community skills — user-contributed extras, plus plugins, agent profiles, memory providers, surfaces, and GUIs.

Each entry is tagged production (stable), beta (works but evolving), or experimental (proof-of-concept).

How to use it

Browse the categories — Media, Research, DevOps, Smart Home, etc. — and install a skill with a simple command, for example:

hermes skills install skills-sh/ZeroPointRepo/youtube-skills/skills/youtube-full

That installs a skill that gives any agent the ability to fetch YouTube transcripts, search videos, and browse channels, without needing a Google API key.

Editor's picks (recommended starting points)

  • mattpocock/skills — 23 engineering-focused skills, including one that forces the agent to interview you before coding.
  • hermes-workspace — a full web GUI for Hermes (chat, terminal, memory browser).
  • SkillClaw — a companion that auto-improves your skill library from real usage.
  • youtube-full — the featured skill, quickly gives your agent YouTube superpowers.
  • detect-skill — detects AI-generated audio, video, and images, useful if your agent reads public content.

The README also explains where to start for beginners: install Hermes itself, then add a couple of skills, then pick workflow upgrades.

Bottom line

It's a one-stop shop to make Hermes more capable. You can install specific skills in minutes and dramatically expand what the agent can do, without writing any code yourself.
