Metis is a coding agent that boosts AI/LLM coding performance by 50% QQ群: 801193315

What it solves

Metis addresses the need for a coding agent that is flexible enough to fit into different workflows. Instead of forcing a one-size-fits-all assistant, it lets each project define its own agent architecture. It also removes the need to leave your preferred environment: you can use it as a desktop app, in the terminal, or install it as a Skill inside other coding tools.

How it works

Metis is built in TypeScript and runs on Node.js 22.19.0 or newer. You describe a task, and Metis automatically picks one of five task tiers, ranging from quick questions to work spanning multiple interfaces. Different roles handle planning, coding, code review, and testing. The agent workflow is represented as a graph that you can edit, and each project keeps its own copy in a file named .metis/harness.json. Metis also integrates with Git, drafting commit messages and showing changed files. For the Skill mode, you can install it into Codex, OpenCode, or DeepSeek Harness.

Who it’s for

Developers who want an AI coding assistant that they can shape per project, and who prefer to work in a desktop GUI, a terminal, or as a plugin inside another agent. It is open source and MIT-licensed, so it also suits teams wanting to customize or contribute.
