VoltAgent/awesome-claude-code-subagents

A collection of 100+ specialized Claude Code subagents covering a wide range of development use cases

What this project is

VoltAgent/awesome-claude-code-subagents is a curated collection of 161+ ready-made "subagents" for Claude Code, organized into 10 categories. A subagent is a specialized AI assistant that handles a specific development task — like writing TypeScript, reviewing code for security issues, or managing Kubernetes — so you can call on an expert instead of asking the main AI to do everything.

What's inside

Each subagent is a small file that defines a focused role (e.g., "REST and GraphQL API architect," "Go concurrency specialist," "GDPR and CCPA privacy compliance specialist"). The README lists them by category, each with a one-line description of what it does.

The 10 categories (as listed)

  1. Core Development — everyday coding: API design, frontend/backend/fullstack development, UI design, webhooks, websockets, mobile, microservices.
  2. Language Specialists — deep experts in specific languages/frameworks: TypeScript, Python, Rust, Go, Java, Swift, Kotlin, PHP (Laravel, Symfony, Django), .NET, React, Vue, Angular, Next.js, Flutter, and more.
  3. Infrastructure — DevOps, cloud, deployment: Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Azure, AWS/GCP, networking, security, SRE, incident response.
  4. Quality & Security — testing, code review, penetration testing, compliance (GDPR/CCPA), accessibility, debugging, performance.
  5. Data & AI — data engineering, machine learning, LLM architecture, MLOps, NLP, prompt engineering, PostgreSQL.
  6. Developer Experience — tooling: build systems, CLI tools, documentation, Git workflows, MCP development, refactoring, README generation.
  7. Specialized Domains — niche fields: blockchain, fintech, game development, healthcare/HIPAA, IoT, embedded systems, email deliverability, Microsoft 365 administration.
  8. (The README is cut off mid-list at the 7th category, so the remaining 3 categories are not visible in the provided text.)

How to install

The README offers five methods:

  1. As a Claude Code plugin (recommended) — two commands: add the marketplace, then install a plugin by name (e.g., voltagent-lang for language specialists, voltagent-infra for infrastructure).
  2. Manual — clone the repo, copy agent files into ~/.claude/agents/ (global) or .claude/agents/ (per-project).
  3. Interactive installer — clone, run ./install-agents.sh, browse categories, pick agents, install/uninstall.
  4. Standalone installer — download the script directly with curl, no clone needed.
  5. Agent installer — install a special "agent-installer" subagent, then ask Claude Code in plain language to find and install agents (e.g., "Find PHP agents and install php-pro globally").

Contribution policy

The project does not accept pull requests whose main purpose is promoting a product, company, or personal project. Subagents must be genuinely useful to Claude Code users and stay vendor-neutral. If you want to surface your work, the supported route is sponsoring the repo.

Sponsors

Two sponsors are listed:

  • Crawlbase — web data infrastructure (crawling API, MCP server) that gives AI agents live access to webpages.
  • SerpApi — a web search API for AI apps, available in Markdown and JSON.

Community & links

  • Discord server for discussion.
  • Link to official MCP servers (Model Context Protocol servers) from the same organization.
  • The project is marked with the Awesome badge (a community standard for high-quality curated lists).

Key takeaway

If you use Claude Code and want a specialist AI assistant for a specific task — instead of writing your own prompt or agent from scratch — this repo gives you a large, organized library of pre-built subagents you can install in minutes.
