TexasBedouin/vibe-check

By a 12-year product manager who builds 0-to-1: takes a beginner from a vague idea to a buildable plan, then guides the build (GitHub basics, clean-code habits, a verify-and-iterate loop, a checkup for the mess). For Claude Code, Codex, and Antigravity. grill-me is for engineers, vibe-check is for everyone else.

What it solves

It bridges the gap between having a vague app idea and having a technical blueprint that an AI coding tool can actually execute. It prevents beginners and "vibe coders" from building the wrong thing by forcing a product discovery and validation phase before any code is written.

How it works

It acts as a "skill" (a set of system instructions) for AI agents like Claude Code. It transforms the AI into a product manager mentor that guides the user through a structured process:

  1. Discovery: Uses techniques like Reddit pain-mining and competitor analysis to find the real problem.
  2. Validation: Pressure-tests the idea against real-world evidence to see if it is worth building.
  3. Planning: Maps user experiences, defines the tech stack, creates data models, and identifies growth loops.
  4. Output: Generates a markdown instruction manual for the AI coder and an interactive HTML PRD (Product Requirements Document) for the human.

Who it’s for

  • Non-technical founders and people with app ideas who have never coded.
  • "Vibe coders" who can generate code but struggle with holistic product planning.
  • Anyone wanting to move from a raw idea to a structured, validated build plan.

Highlights

  • Three On-ramps: Users can choose the full journey, validation only, or planning only.
  • Comprehensive Deliverables: Produces story maps, user flows, system architecture diagrams, and cost breakdowns.
  • Growth Loop Integration: Helps design how the app recruits users organically into the core flow.
  • Checkup Mode: Includes a feature to audit and tidy messy codebases to keep them maintainable as they grow.
  • Beginner-Centric: Teaches basic concepts like GitHub, deployment, and secret keys in plain language.
