TannerMidd/pi-pocket
A durable, multiplayer, mobile-first web app for Pi agents, built on Pi Durable
What it solves
Pi Pocket provides a mobile-first, durable interface for Pi coding agents, allowing users to interact with their AI agents from a phone or desktop without needing a cloud VM. It solves the problem of maintaining persistent, multiplayer coding sessions that can survive server restarts and be accessed remotely.
How it works
Built on Pi Durable, the app stores every model call, tool call, and subagent action as it happens. It runs as a local server (supporting local, LAN, Cloudflare, or Tailscale access) and provides a web-based frontend. It integrates with a headless Chromium browser on the server, allowing the agent to browse the web and the user to view the same page in real-time. It also uses git worktrees to keep session files separate.
Who it’s for
Developers who want a portable, multiplayer environment to steer AI coding agents, specifically those using the Pi ecosystem, and those who prefer running their AI tools locally on their own hardware (including Android via Termux).
Highlights
- Durable Sessions: Work continues automatically after a server restart; tool calls only rerun if safe.
- Multiplayer Collaboration: Live shared sessions with presence, side chats, @mentions, and turn-taking.
- Mobile-First Design: Optimized for phones with streaming answers, push notifications, and a home-screen app experience.
- Built-in Browser: Agent can read and screenshot pages in a real Chromium instance, which the user can watch live.
- Safety Controls: Includes "Plan mode" for approval-based changes and "Lancet Guard" to block risky bash or edit calls.
- Flexible Versioning: Supports forking sessions into separate sessions or git worktrees.
- Extensible: Supports live-reloaded extensions and custom system prompts.
