Soodok/Deepseek-Harness-Local-Android
Run the DeepSeek Harness AI agent natively on Android — no root, no Termux, extension center included | 手机本地运行 DeepSeek Agent,免 Root 免 Termux
What it solves
Running AI agents on Android traditionally requires setting up Termux, installing dependencies, or using a proot container with a full Linux distribution. This project removes that friction by bundling the official DeepSeek Harness engine, its Node.js runtime, and 19 environment toolchains into a single APK. You install it and it works immediately — no root, no Termux, no PC needed. Sessions, credentials, and workspaces live entirely in the app sandbox or the app's private external directory, so your data stays on your phone unless you explicitly configure a remote model API.
How it works
The app embeds the official dsh engine (pinned to 0.2.1-rc.2) along with a bionic (Android-native) Node.js runtime. The engine listens only on the loopback address 127.0.0.1:3083, and all interactions go through a token-gated capability bridge. A foreground service with exponential backoff monitoring keeps the engine alive in the background. It includes an extension center where you can download and uninstall command-line tools like Python, Go, Rust, Git, and FFmpeg with one tap; dependencies are resolved, SHA-256 verified, and atomically released. It also ships an SSH remote workspace (via the @tiphareth/dsh-hardssh plugin) that binds remote directories and lets you run read/write/edit/bash commands on a server directly from the phone. Screen automation is achieved through an accessibility service that provides 21 action primitives (tap, swipe, scroll, drag, input, etc.) with a local closed-loop of pick → act → verify → retry, using visual fallbacks like OCR and icon recognition. A LAN WebUI proxy lets you access the native web interface from a computer with a one-time 6-digit code. Voice input uses system recognition with an optional OpenAI-compatible API fallback. Permission modes are three-tier: normal (sandboxed), Shizuku (adb-level), and root (uid 0), with safeguards like an su gate and double confirmation.
Who it’s for
This is aimed at developers and tech enthusiasts who want a fully portable AI agent workstation on their Android phone. It’s also useful for administrators who need to edit code, run tests, or monitor logs on remote servers while away from a desktop. The default normal mode covers most everyday needs; root or Shizuku are optional advanced tiers for users who require deeper device control.
Highlights
- One-click install: everything (engine, runtime, toolchains) is pre-built into the APK; no initial downloads or environment setup.
- Official dsh engine fully ported, preserving the plugin system, WebUI, and tool-calling chain.
- 19 environment extensions (Python, Go, Rust, Clang, OpenJDK, Git, etc.) can be installed or uninstalled on demand.
- Built-in SSH remote workspace with web terminal, file upload/download, local port forwarding, and remote command execution.
- Screen automation with 21 action primitives and a local verification loop (measured ~1.45s per step; compact verify ~5ms).
- LAN WebUI proxy with a randomly generated 6-digit access code and persistent notification for easy remote desktop access.
- Voice input with editable transcript, deduplication, and background sending.
- Three permission modes (normal / Shizuku / root) with strict safety measures; normal mode is the default and requires no special setup.
