QwenAudio/Fun-Audio-Chat
Fun-Audio-Chat is a Large Audio Language Model built for natural, low-latency voice interactions.
What it solves
Fun-Audio-Chat addresses the challenge of creating natural, low-latency voice interactions. It aims to provide a model capable of high-quality speech understanding and generation while reducing the heavy computational costs typically associated with processing audio data in large language models.
How it works
The project utilizes a Large Audio Language Model (LALM) architecture with two primary innovations:
- Dual-Resolution Speech Representations: It uses an efficient 5Hz shared backbone combined with a 25Hz refined head. This approach reduces GPU compute requirements by nearly 50% compared to models using higher frame rates without sacrificing speech quality.
- Core-Cocktail Training: This training method is used to ensure the model retains the strong text-based capabilities of the underlying LLM while learning audio tasks.
Who it’s for
This tool is designed for developers and researchers building voice-driven AI applications, such as voice assistants, audio analysis tools, or systems requiring real-time speech-to-speech (S2S) and speech-to-text (S2T) capabilities.
Highlights
- Low Latency: Optimized for natural, real-time voice interactions.
- Versatile Capabilities: Supports spoken QA, audio understanding, speech function calling, speech instruction-following, and voice empathy.
- High Efficiency: Significantly reduces GPU hours during processing via dual-resolution representations.
- SOTA Performance: Ranks highly on multiple benchmarks including OpenAudioBench, VoiceBench, and UltraEval-Audio.
