NickPittas/DirectorsConsole
A web application for prompt generation and multiple ComfyUI remote and local connections for image and video generation in parallel in an infinite canvas
What it solves
Director's Console is a unified AI VFX production pipeline designed to bring cinematographic accuracy to AI image and video generation. It solves the problem of imprecise, generic AI prompts by grounding them in real-world cinematography—real cameras, lenses, film stocks, and lighting—ensuring that generated visuals are physically and historically possible.
How it works
The system combines several integrated components:
- Cinema Prompt Engineering (CPE) Rules Engine: A validation system that prevents impossible configurations (e.g., pairing a Panavision lens with a non-Panavision camera or using LED lighting in a 1960s film).
- Storyboard Canvas: An infinite workspace where users can organize production units (panels) with their own workflows, parameters, and image/video history.
- Orchestrator: A manager for distributed rendering across multiple ComfyUI nodes, providing real-time progress tracking and health monitoring.
- Gallery: A comprehensive media browser for organizing, tagging, and managing project files, with the ability to restore generation parameters from PNG metadata.
- AI-Enhanced Prompts: Integration with LLM providers to refine prompts based on specific target models (e.g., Wan 3.0, Kling 3.0) and tasks (T2V, I2V, R2V).
Who it’s for
It is built for AI artists, VFX producers, and cinematographers who require precise control over the visual grammar of their AI-generated content and need a professional-grade pipeline for managing complex visual productions.
Highlights
- Cinematographic Accuracy: Includes 67 live-action film presets (from Metropolis to Parasite) and 43 animation presets (e.g., Studio Ghibli, Pixar).
- Multi-Node Rendering: Parallel rendering across multiple ComfyUI backends with detailed stage tracking.
- Infinite Storyboard Canvas: Draggable, resizable panels with per-panel workflows and markdown notes.
- Advanced Media Management: A gallery with batch renaming, duplicate detection, and PNG metadata search.
- Printable Storyboards: Exportable layouts with configurable grid columns and page sizes for physical production planning.
