NIGos/dlss5-bridge

DLSS 5 Neural Rendering in DirectX 11 and Vulkan games, and optionally in games with no DLSS via NVIDIA Optical Flow (lower quality). A ReShade add-on.

What it solves

DLSS 5 Neural Rendering add-ons typically require a DirectX 12 environment to function. This project provides a bridge that allows these add-ons to work in games using DirectX 11 or Vulkan, without needing to patch the game's original files. It also enables a "substitute contract" that allows neural rendering to be used in games that do not have DLSS natively, provided they can expose depth and motion inputs via ReShade.

How it works

The bridge acts as a ReShade add-on that mirrors a game's DLSS data (Color, Depth, and Motion Vectors) from a DirectX 11 or Vulkan session onto a private DirectX 12 session. A compatible neural rendering add-on can then process this data on the private D3D12 device and copy the result back into the game's output. For games without native DLSS, the bridge can generate substitute inputs using NVIDIA Optical Flow or a ReShade motion-vector shader to feed the neural rendering process.

Who it’s for

Gamers with NVIDIA GPUs who want to use DLSS 5 Neural Rendering add-ons in games that only support DirectX 11, Vulkan, or lack native DLSS support entirely.

Highlights

  • Multi-API Support: Bridges DirectX 11 and Vulkan games to a private D3D12 session for neural rendering.
  • Non-Invasive: Does not patch game files.
  • Substitute Path: Enables neural rendering in non-DLSS games using NVIDIA Optical Flow or ReShade shaders.
  • Integrated Control: Includes a ReShade overlay panel for real-time configuration of routes, optical flow settings, and diagnostic details.
  • Detailed Logging: Provides comprehensive logs including SHA-256 hashes of add-ons and GPU timing data.
