MLNLP-World/Paper-Rebuttal-Tips

What it solves

When your paper gets rejected or challenged by reviewers, you have a short window to write a rebuttal. Many authors respond defensively, promise things without doing them, or fail to provide concrete evidence. This project offers a systematic way to handle common review criticisms by organizing them into specific, actionable scenarios. It helps you reframe your response around respect, evidence, and clarity so that the area chair and reviewers can see why your work still deserves acceptance.

How it works

The project compiles 28 frequently encountered reviewer questions into individual 'Tips'. Each Tip is broken down into four parts: the typical reviewer complaint, a bad example of how to respond, a recommended response strategy, and the key takeaway. These Tips are grouped into three categories: innovation/motivation/theory/limitations, writing/clarification/communication, and experimental/evaluation evidence. Every Tip is presented as an expandable image (SVG) for easy reading. In addition, the repository includes a ready-to-use 'paper-rebuttal-skill' — a reusable workflow that you can load into an agent. This skill automatically chooses the right processing path based on your task and the specific reviewer point, helping you analyze comments, check an existing rebuttal, draft a response, or address common issues like missing experiments or insufficient evidence.

Who it's for

This project is aimed at researchers and students who are submitting papers to top AI and large-model conferences and need to write a rebuttal during the review period. If you are unsure how to respond to negative feedback, or simply want to improve your chances, this guide provides practical, field-tested advice. The bundled skill is especially useful for those who want a more automated or structured way to handle rebuttals.

Highlights

  • Covers 28 common reviewer scenarios, ranging from novelty concerns to reproducibility issues.
  • Each Tip contrasts a 'bad response' with a 'recommended response', making the difference clear.
  • Includes a directly usable 'paper-rebuttal-skill' that can handle analysis, checking, and drafting tasks.
  • Curates a rich collection of Chinese and English experience articles, videos, and tools as supplementary resources.
