Elevate your AI research writing, no more tedious polishing ✨

What is this project?

A free, open-source collection of ready-to-use AI writing templates (called prompts) and “agent skills” designed to help researchers and students write better academic papers in English and Chinese. It was created to close the gap between research groups with polished prompt libraries and those who still start from scratch.

What does it include?

Part 1: Writing prompt templates

The project provides 17+ copy-paste prompts for common writing tasks. Each prompt is a complete instruction block you can paste into a chatbot (like ChatGPT). Covered tasks include:

  • Translating between Chinese and English for LaTeX or Word documents
  • Shortening or expanding text (by ~5–15 words)
  • Polishing academic language (for English or Chinese papers)
  • Checking logic and consistency
  • Removing “AI flavor” (stiff, mechanical wording)
  • Generating figure and table captions
  • Creating paper architecture diagrams
  • Recommending chart types for experimental results
  • Writing experimental analyses
  • Simulating a harsh reviewer’s feedback on your whole paper

Each prompt includes detailed rules – e.g., avoid bold/italics, keep LaTeX commands intact, use simple words, and correct tense. Many prompts also ask the AI to output a “translation” for verification.

Part 2: Agent skills

Agent skills are a newer, more powerful way to use AI for writing, but they have a learning curve. The project provides:

  • A setup guide for configuring skills
  • An overview of relevant skills
  • Examples of when to use them and sample prompts

It also links to a specific skill: arxiv-translator – a skill that translates LaTeX source from arXiv papers and compiles the result.

What makes it special?

The prompts and skills were collected from real researchers at top institutes (MSRA, Seed, SH AI Lab) and graduate students from Peking University, USTC, and SJTU. They are tested in actual work and are meant to be copy-paste ready – no need to design prompts from scratch.

Who is it for?

Anyone who writes academic papers – especially students and researchers who work with AI tools but lack ready-made writing workflows.

Key features

  • 🔬 Real-world tested – based on actual usage by scientists
  • 🚀 Copy-paste ready – no extra setup for prompt templates
  • 🤝 Continuously updated – new tips and best practices are added over time

In a nutshell

The project’s goal is “Make AI Writing Better for Everyone” – by sharing the hidden prompt engineering tricks of advanced research groups, they want to save you time debugging prompts so you can focus on actual research.
