What it solves

XHS-Downloader is a tool designed to extract and download content from the social media platform Xiaohongshu (RedNote). It solves the problem of manually saving posts, images, and videos by providing an automated way to collect work information and download files in bulk.

How it works

The project operates through three primary interfaces:

1. Standalone Application: A TUI (Terminal User Interface) program that can be run as an executable or via Python/Docker. It can monitor the clipboard for links and download content automatically.
2. User Scripts: Tampermonkey scripts that run in the browser to extract links from recommendation pages, user profiles, collections, and search results, which can then be pushed to the main program for downloading.
3. Server Modes: It can be deployed as an API server or an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, allowing other applications or AI agents to request post details and trigger downloads.
