Jasonzhu1207/ZenConverter
Local Android file converter built with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. Convert files on device, with no ads, accounts, or upload-based fallback.
What it solves
ZenConverter provides a private, local-first way to convert files directly on your Android device. It eliminates the need for ad-heavy, paid, or cloud-based conversion services that require you to upload your personal files to a remote server.
How it works
The app uses a foreground service to manage file processing tasks locally. When you select a file, the app routes the task to a specific engine—such as FFmpeg for media, native Android libraries for PDFs, or Tencent NCNN for AI-powered tasks—ensuring all work happens on your phone. It uses Android's Storage Access Framework to handle files securely without unnecessary permissions.
Who it’s for
It is for Android users who value privacy and want a reliable, ad-free tool to handle common file conversions, media processing, and metadata management without relying on the internet.
