Inkloom-art/inkloom

Specialised AI models for logo design — a brand-analysis model turns a business into constraints, typography and symbol models construct the mark, and a composition engine produces real lockups and clear-space rules. Early access open.

Inkloom – AI‑powered logo design platform

What it is Inkloom builds specialised generative AI models that create logo marks the way a professional design studio would. Instead of outputting a flat bitmap, the system produces a structured specification – geometry, typography, clear‑space rules and lock‑up variants – that can be handed off to printers or sign makers.

How it works The generation pipeline is broken into four explainable stages:

Stage Output
Brand analysis From a textual brief (sector, audience, tone, competitors) it derives concrete design constraints such as stroke weight, width, geometry and suitable symbol families.
Typography Picks and fits letterforms to those constraints, handling optical spacing, kerning and custom ligatures to produce a word‑mark.
Symbol construction Assembles geometric primitives (circles, lines, arcs) under strict construction rules – shared radii, tangent junctions, consistent terminals – so the mark is built rather than sampled.
Composition Aligns the mark and word‑mark optically, computes clear‑space ratios from the mark itself, and creates the lock‑up variants a brand needs.

The final artefact is a vector‑friendly specification rather than a raster image.

Current state

  • An early‑access web portal (inkloom.art) is live for sign‑ups, but the actual logo‑generation feature is still disabled.
  • The repository contains the production platform: account handling, credit ledger, access‑code system, deployment tooling, backups and alerting.
  • Tests run against real services (Postgres, mail server, browser) to guarantee transactional correctness – e.g., a stress test that redeems a single code 25 times concurrently and ensures only one ledger entry is created.

Roadmap

  1. Enable the generation engine.
  2. Add export formats for designers and printers (SVG, EPS, etc.).
  3. Provide brand‑kit bundles, revision history, and paid subscription plans.

Tech stack

  • Frontend / API: React Router served from a Cloudflare Workers edge runtime, keeping the session cookie first‑party.
  • Database: PostgreSQL for accounts, credits and audit logs.
  • Infrastructure: Cloudflare Workers for serverless execution, with internal runbooks for deployment and incident response (not public).

Why it matters Most existing image‑generation models treat logos as generic pictures, lacking the geometric rigor and brand‑level reasoning a professional designer applies. Inkloom’s approach aims to give businesses a reproducible, defensible logo that can be directly used in production workflows.
