Open-source, self-hosted MCP gateway: turn any REST/OpenAPI, SOAP, GraphQL, OData or SQL API into MCP tools for Claude, ChatGPT & Copilot. 331 connectors incl. SAP S/4HANA & Business One, ERP, e-commerce.
AnythingMCP – Self‑hosted MCP gateway
What it is – AnythingMCP is an open‑source, self‑hosted “MCP” (Model‑to‑Connector Protocol) gateway. It lets you expose any existing REST/OpenAPI, SOAP, GraphQL, OData, or SQL data source as a collection of tools that large language models (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, etc.) can call directly, without you having to write a custom MCP server.
Key capabilities
- 352 ready‑made connectors (SAP, Etsy, Amazon Seller, WooCommerce, DHL, …) plus the ability to import your own OpenAPI spec, WSDL, Postman collection, GraphQL schema or database.
- Visual tool editor – rename tools, hide sensitive fields, set read‑only or destructive hints, and assign role‑based access.
- Single endpoint – the MCP server runs at
http://<host>:4000/mcpand can be added to Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, etc. - Security – credentials encrypted at rest (AES‑256‑GCM), OAuth2/Basic/API‑key auth support, RBAC, SSO/SCIM, audit logging, and response‑field mapping to keep private data out of the LLM context.
- Deployable – Docker‑compose quick‑start (one‑liner) or full deployment with Caddy‑generated TLS certificates; also available as a managed cloud service (7‑day free trial).
How it works (simplified)
- Add a connector – pick a pre‑built JSON adapter or point AnythingMCP at your own API/DB definition. Each operation becomes a tool.
- Configure the tool – via the web UI you decide which fields the model may see, rename parameters, and set role permissions.
- Expose the MCP URL – give the URL to any LLM client that supports MCP; the model can now invoke the tools as if they were native functions.
Typical use‑cases
- Enable a sales‑assistant Claude bot to create a sales order in SAP, check inventory in Shopify, and book a shipment with DHL – all from a single conversation.
- Give ChatGPT read‑only access to a company’s PostgreSQL reporting database without exposing raw credentials.
- Build internal “AI agents” that can query ERP, e‑commerce, logistics, HR, or banking systems on demand.
Running it yourself
mkdir anythingmcp && cd anythingmcp
curl -fsSLo docker-compose.yml \
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HelpCode-ai/anythingmcp/main/docker-compose.quickstart.yml
printf 'JWT_SECRET=%s\nENCRYPTION_KEY=%s\n' "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .env
docker compose up -d
- First registered user becomes admin.
- MCP endpoint:
http://localhost:4000/mcp. - API docs:
http://localhost:4000/api/docs. - For public access, run
./setup.shto obtain TLS certificates via Caddy.
Licensing & community
- AGPL‑3.0 license (source‑available, must share modifications).
- Docker image on Docker Hub, star‑history badge, active discussions, issue templates for new adapters, and a catalog of 352 adapters with multilingual guides.
Bottom line – AnythingMCP is a practical bridge that turns existing enterprise APIs and databases into LLM‑callable tools, handling security, mapping, and role‑based access out of the box, making it easier to build AI‑augmented workflows without writing custom integration code.
