GeminiLight/SocialCoach

Your personal EQ coach. Build social skills and learn to handle conflict through realistic role-play and personalized feedback.

What it solves

People often freeze in awkward or tense social situations — being pressed to drink at a dinner, making small talk in an elevator, or being asked to take on extra work at the last minute. SocialCoach gives you a safe space to practice these conversations before they happen, so you can see how your words land and improve your delivery without real-world consequences.

How it works

You pick a scenario (or describe your own situation) and enter a role-played dialogue. The other party has its own needs, concerns, and limits — it will push back, ask follow-ups, and hold its ground. After the conversation, a coach reviews your actual words, quotes what you said, and gives feedback that separates "not knowing what to say" from "knowing but not doing it." You can then try again with a different approach. The system also personalizes which scenarios to recommend based on your goals, practice history, and estimated proficiency across 34 skills, and it supports both Chinese and English.

Who it’s for

Anyone who wants to get better at handling social interactions — like asking for a raise, setting boundaries with friends, dealing with disagreements at home, or simply connecting with new colleagues. It is designed as a personal practice tool, not a certified school curriculum or a clinical assessment.

Highlights

  • Realistic practice partners: characters respond according to their own stance; politeness alone won't make them agree, and there's an optional timed-response mode for pressure practice.
  • Evidence-based feedback: debriefs quote your actual utterances before critiquing, and communication quality is evaluated separately from whether the other party agreed.
  • Personalized practice path: recommendations based on goals, history, and a 34-skill proficiency estimate; plus a scenario library and the option to generate custom practice for your own situation.
  • Sourced guidance: 42 strategies and 30 example cases support coaching feedback and reflection, with sources and clearly marked teaching examples.
  • Long-term tracking: you can ask follow-up questions during review, revisit past dialogues, and spot recurring communication patterns across sessions.
  • Flexible and private: no registration required, practice records are exportable, supports bring-your-own-model and self-hosting, and has a mobile-first PWA interface.
