Coding Agent Skills for modern SwiftUI development
Overview
FWC SwiftUI Skills is a collection of Agent Skills – small, reusable knowledge modules that can be loaded into AI‑code‑assistant tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or any other platform that understands the Agent Skills specification. Each skill teaches the assistant how to generate, review, or adapt SwiftUI code for very recent iOS features:
swiftui-liquid-glass– helps the model work with the iOS 26 “Liquid Glass” visual effect APIs, covering common patterns and pitfalls.swiftui-iphone-duo– guides the model on building fold‑aware UI for the upcoming iPhone Duo (iOS 27.1 SDK), including hinge interactions and camera accessories.
The repository does not contain a runnable app or a machine‑learning model; it supplies structured documentation that AI agents can consume to become better at SwiftUI code generation.
Installation & Use
- Via the Skills CLI (recommended) – the Vercel‑Labs
skillscommand fetches the whole pack or a single skill and drops the files into the appropriate directory for your AI assistant.# Install everything (if your CLI supports it) npx skills add FloWritesCode/fwc-swiftui-skills # Install just one skill npx skills add FloWritesCode/fwc-swiftui-skills --skill swiftui-liquid-glass - Manual copy – clone the repo and copy the desired skill folder into the agent’s
~/.agents/skills/(or the tool‑specific path such as~/.cursor/skills/).git clone https://github.com/FloWritesCode/fwc-swiftui-skills.git cp -R fwc-swiftui-skills/skills/swiftui-liquid-glass ~/.agents/skills/
Once installed, the AI assistant can reference the SKILL.md front‑matter and any optional reference.md when you ask it to write or review SwiftUI code that uses those iOS APIs.
Core Concepts
| Concept | What it means for the user |
|---|---|
| Agent Skill | A tiny, self‑contained knowledge package (YAML front‑matter + optional docs) that an AI coding assistant can load and apply automatically. |
| Liquid Glass | A visual effect introduced in iOS 26; the skill contains the latest native API usage, patterns, and common mistakes. |
| iPhone Duo | A hypothetical foldable iPhone (iOS 27.1 SDK). The skill teaches layout strategies that respect the hinge, dynamic size classes, and built‑in camera accessories. |
| Skills CLI | A command‑line tool (npx skills) that fetches and installs these packages into the directories that agents like Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex monitor. |
Typical Workflow
- Add the skill to your preferred AI assistant using the CLI or manual copy.
- Prompt the assistant – e.g., “Create a SwiftUI view that uses the Liquid Glass blur effect.”
- The assistant reads the
swiftui-liquid-glassskill, pulls in the documented patterns, and generates code that follows the latest iOS 26 guidelines. - If you need a review, ask “Check my SwiftUI view for Liquid Glass pitfalls,” and the assistant will cross‑reference the same skill to spot issues.
Who Might Benefit?
- iOS developers who want their AI assistants to stay up‑to‑date with brand‑new SDK features without manually digging through Apple documentation.
- Team leads looking to standardise how AI‑generated code handles emerging UI paradigms (foldable devices, new visual effects).
- Tool builders who want a ready‑made example of the Agent Skills format for SwiftUI‑related knowledge.
