EAC-Desktop provides a comprehensive desktop workbench for AI agents, transforming the raw capabilities of the DeepSeek Harness into a functional, user-friendly desktop environment. It eliminates the need for users to manually install complex runtimes like Node.js or npm, allowing them to start working with AI agents immediately upon installation.

How it works

The project uses a three-layer architecture to separate the user interface from the agent logic:

1. Native Desktop (L1): A Rust-based shell (Tauri) that handles window management, system tray integration, and native OS interactions.
2. Runtime Orchestration (L2): A Node.js sidecar that manages environment initialization, process startup, and plugin synchronization.
3. Harness Kernel (L3): The core agent engine (DeepSeek Harness) that handles conversations, tool execution, and the Web UI.

It utilizes DPX for independent environment management, ensuring that data and runtimes are isolated by channel, and uses a JSON-RPC protocol for communication between the Rust shell and the Node sidecar.
