Codex SEO provides a comprehensive, automated SEO audit suite designed for the Codex environment. It eliminates the need for manual SEO analysis by orchestrating a series of specialist workflows that cover technical SEO, content quality, AI search readiness (GEO), and local SEO, producing deterministic reports instead of simple chat responses.

How it works

The system acts as a routing layer within Codex. An orchestrator skill takes a natural language request and routes it to one of 26 specialist workflows. These workflows utilize 24 TOML agent profiles and deterministic Python scripts to perform the analysis. The results are stored in a shared cache (.seo-cache) and exported as Markdown, JSON, HTML, or PDF reports.

It integrates with external providers via extensions for deeper data:

  • DataForSEO: For live SERP, keyword, and backlink data.
  • Google APIs: For PageSpeed, Search Console, and Indexing API.
  • Firecrawl: For JS-rendered crawling.
  • Banana/Gemini: For AI-generated SEO images.
