xAI Grok Bot Access Expansion
xAI has expanded access to Grok Bot, making the AI agent tool available to all users on SuperGrok, Cursor Pro, and Cursor Teams plans. This expansion allows users to deploy autonomous digital teammates capable of executing complex workflows across various applications without consuming the usage quotas of their primary Grok or Cursor plans.
Expanded Plan Integration and Usage
Grok Bot is now included in a wide range of subscription tiers, ensuring that a broader user base can utilize autonomous agents for professional tasks. The specific plans now including Grok Bot are:
- SuperGrok Tiers: SuperGrok, SuperGrok Plus, and SuperGrok Heavy.
- Cursor Tiers: Cursor Pro, Cursor Pro+, and Cursor Ultra.
- Cursor Teams: Both Standard and Premium plans.
To prevent agentic workflows from depleting standard chat limits, Grok Bot features its own dedicated usage. Work handed off to a Bot does not count against the existing usage limits of the user's Grok or Cursor plans.
Core Capabilities of Grok Bot
Grok Bot is positioned as a digital teammate designed to handle entire projects or functions autonomously. Unlike standard AI assistants, Grok Bot operates as an agent with the following technical and operational characteristics:
Autonomous Cloud Environment
Each Bot operates with its own dedicated computer in the cloud that remains always on. This environment provides the Bot with browser and terminal access, allowing it to sign into applications and perform work directly within the tools themselves rather than simply generating text drafts in a chat interface.
Collaborative Agent Orchestration
Users can deploy multiple Bots simultaneously to create a specialized workforce. For example, a user can instantiate a researcher, a writer, and a chief of staff in a single group chat, enabling the Bots to pass work between one another autonomously without requiring the user to act as an intermediary.
Interface and Automation
- Text-Thread UX: The interface mimics standard messaging, allowing users to communicate with Bots via mobile or desktop without complex initial setup.
- Routine Learning: Users can instruct a Bot to observe a task as it is performed, enabling the Bot to automate and run that specific routine independently in the future.
Practical Use Cases for Grok Bot
xAI identifies several high-utility roles that Grok Bot can currently perform, emphasizing its ability to interact with third-party software and handle end-to-end processes:
- Business Operations: Acting as an office manager to book jobs across Gmail, Slack, ServiceTitan, Quo, and client portals, or serving as a sales prospector that researches accounts and drafts personalized outreach.
- Technical and Creative Work: Building websites, purchasing domains, deploying versions, and configuring plugins; or acting as a game artist to create custom assets within an art pipeline.
- Administrative Management: Managing inboxes to filter messages, auditing email and Drive for digital decluttering, and acting as a meeting stand-in to take notes and provide summaries.
- Financial Tasks: Handling routine customer support refunds based on company policy or managing the entire lifecycle of a refund claim from filing to recovery.
Enterprise users are currently managed via a waitlist as xAI scales access for larger company rollouts.
