Hugging Face Student Ambassador Program 2022

Hugging Face has launched its first Student Ambassador Program to democratize machine learning (ML) by empowering students to teach open-source ML to their campus communities. This initiative is part of a larger strategic goal to teach machine learning to 5 million people by 2023.

Program Goals and Community Impact

Hugging Face aims to teach open-source ML to individuals from all backgrounds worldwide. The Student Ambassador Program is designed for students who are already evangelizing ML in their communities or studying the field to help their peers navigate their machine learning journey using free, open-source technologies.

Ambassador Benefits

Selected participants in the program provide community leadership and receive the following resources and support from Hugging Face:

  • Collaborative Network: Access to a network of peers for collaboration.
  • Technical Support: Workshops and direct support from the Hugging Face team.
  • Early Access: Insights into the latest projects and features.
  • Recognition: Official recognition as a Hugging Face Ambassador, along with merchandise and assets.

Eligibility and Requirements

To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Student Status: Must be able to validate student status and be enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • Educational Background: Must have completed at least one machine learning or data science course, including online courses.
  • Technical Proficiency: Must be a user of the Hugging Face Hub or Hugging Face libraries.
  • Code of Conduct: Must acknowledge and adhere to the strict Code of Conduct that governs the Hugging Face ecosystem.

The 2022 program follows this schedule:

  • Application Deadline: June 13, 2022.
  • Program Start Date: June 30, 2022.
  • Program End Date: December 31, 2022.
