UST is integrating Claude into the engineering environments used by semiconductor, automotive, manufacturing, telecom, and IoT companies to verify designs and validate hardware. The primary goal is to identify design flaws earlier in the production cycle to avoid the high costs associated with post-manufacturing errors.

Integration into the iDEC Platform

UST uses a platform called iDEC to validate hardware and silicon before production. Historically, this process required engineers to manually write, run, and analyze test scripts.

Claude Code is now being integrated as the reasoning layer within the iDEC pipeline to automate these tasks:

  • Automated Testing: Claude Code reads chip pinouts and hardware schematics to write and run regression tests, replacing manual scripting.
  • Fault Detection: Claude compares live equipment data against a "digital twin" (a software model of intended hardware behavior) to identify signal-integrity faults and firmware regressions.
