Grok 4.6 in GitHub Copilot

xAI has integrated Grok 4.6, its latest coding model, into GitHub Copilot. This integration allows millions of developers using VS Code and GitHub to access Grok 4.6's coding capabilities directly within their development environment.

Availability and Integration

Developers can access Grok 4.6 across several GitHub Copilot products, including the VS Code IDE, the Copilot CLI, and cloud agents. To use the model, users should open the model picker and select "Grok 4.6".

For business and enterprise users, the model may require manual enablement through the Copilot settings menu by an administrator.

API Access and Pricing

Outside of GitHub Copilot, Grok 4.6 is available via the SpaceXAI console. The pricing for API access is set at:

  • Input tokens: $2 per million tokens
  • Output tokens: $6 per million tokens
