The Data Center Bandwagon Campaign

This cluster of accounts used ChatGPT to generate social media comments and images claiming that AI data center buildouts were causing an increase in electricity prices for average families. The goal was to exploit and amplify existing public concerns regarding energy prices and the local impacts of data center development.

The Tech and Tariffs Campaign

This cluster focused on generating content criticizing US tariffs as attempts to dominate technological competition. The operators of this cluster specifically prompted the AI to exclude mentions of China's leader Xi Jinping and instead focus exclusively on President Trump.

This campaign was also linked to a network of inauthentic social media accounts that spread false allegations claiming that OpenAI's ChatGPT user data had been compromised. OpenAI has confirmed these allegations of data compromise were entirely false.
