Notemd is an Obsidian plugin designed to prevent AI-generated insights from being lost in ephemeral chat sessions. It transforms LLM-powered reading and research into a persistent, structured knowledge base by writing results—such as wiki-links, concept notes, and summaries—directly into the user's Obsidian vault.

How it works

The plugin integrates with over 30 Large Language Models (LLMs), including cloud providers like OpenAI and Anthropic, as well as local models via Ollama. It processes notes through several specialized workflows:

• Knowledge Graphing: It identifies core concepts in text and automatically creates [[wiki-links]] and dedicated concept notes.
• Content Generation: It can generate note content based on titles, perform web research using Tavily or DuckDuckGo, and summarize findings.
• Translation: It handles large-file translation by chunking text and combining results back into a single document.
• Visualization: It converts note content into Mermaid diagrams or other visual formats like Obsidian JSON Canvas and Vega-Lite.
• Vault Integration: It uses smart chunking for large documents and supports batch processing of entire folders with configurable output paths.
