Superlogical: Mitchell Hashimoto Launches New Venture Focused on Terminal Infrastructure

Mitchell Hashimoto has announced the launch of Superlogical, a new software company focused on evolving the terminal experience. The company's first product will be a high-performance terminal multiplexer designed to leverage the technical foundations of the terminal ecosystem.

Superlogical's Initial Product: A New Terminal Multiplexer

Superlogical is beginning its development by shipping a terminal multiplexer. This product is being built by applying years of experience in terminal emulator development and an analysis of the limitations of existing multiplexers to create a tool that is both powerful and fast.

Technical Foundation and the Role of libghostty

Superlogical will be built using libghostty, an MIT-licensed reusable library. The company intends to use libghostty as a public building block, meaning Superlogical will consume the same components available to the general public. Furthermore, Superlogical commits to upstreaming shared terminal work back into libghostty so that all consumers of the library benefit from their improvements.

Relationship with Ghostty

Superlogical is a separate entity from Ghostty. Ghostty remains a non-profit organization, and its mission, governance, license, technical goals, and roadmap remain unchanged. Ghostty was donated to a federally recognized non-profit in 2025 to ensure it remains an open building block for the community and cannot be commercialized.

Vision and Team

While the terminal multiplexer is the first release, it is not the entirety of Superlogical's long-term vision. The company is founded by Hashimoto and a team of co-founders committed to well-crafted software experiences.
