IoT DC3 is a multi-protocol, cloud-native, AI-powered, open-source industrial IoT platform evolving toward AI agents. A complete IoT system solution: device connectivity, data acquisition, edge-to-cloud delivery and intelligent operations.
What it solves
IoT DC3 is an open-source industrial IoT platform designed to simplify the connection of diverse industrial devices and the integration of AI capabilities into operational workflows. It addresses the challenge of fragmented industrial protocols and the need for intelligent, natural-language-based device management and data analysis.
How it works
The platform uses a six-layer microservice architecture based on Spring Boot 4 and Spring Cloud 2025. It employs a pluggable message broker (such as RabbitMQ or Kafka) to handle telemetry data asynchronously. To connect to hardware, it provides 36 pre-built access driver modules covering industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC UA, Siemens S7), IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP), and data bridging (SQL databases).
For AI integration, it utilizes Spring AI to connect LLMs (like GPT, Claude, DeepSeek, and Qwen) to IoT operations. This allows the platform to perform tool calling for device queries, root-cause analysis for alarms, and natural-language data visualization.
Who it’s for
It is intended for developers and engineers building smart factories, energy monitoring systems, smart agriculture, and smart city infrastructure who need a scalable, cloud-native platform for device connectivity and AI-powered operations.
