OfficeDex eliminates the manual effort of formatting and structuring professional documents. Instead of manually creating files or copy-pasting from a chat AI into a word processor, users can describe their intent in natural language and receive fully formatted, native office files ready for use.

How it works

OfficeDex acts as a desktop GUI shell for the officecli engine. It uses a multi-agent system where different AI agents collaborate to plan the document structure, write the content, and handle the final formatting. Unlike many AI tools, it generates OOXML formats (.docx, .pptx, .xlsx) natively rather than converting from HTML. It integrates with various LLMs (OpenAI, Claude, Azure, or self-hosted vLLM) and provides an inline previewer so users can review documents without needing Microsoft Office installed.
