Ghostex provides a unified, high-performance workspace for developers who run multiple AI agent command-line interfaces (CLIs) simultaneously. It eliminates the need to juggle separate terminal windows, browser tabs, and code editors by integrating them into a single cross-platform desktop application with persistent sessions.
How it works
Ghostex uses a client-server architecture consisting of a native Rust/GPUI interface, a gxserver daemon, and zmx for session persistence. It embeds low-RAM Ghostty terminals to run agent CLIs (such as Claude Code, Codex CLI, and Gemini) and includes Chromium CEF browser panes for web interaction. The system allows users to connect to these sessions from various clients, including macOS, Linux, Windows (via WSL2), and mobile apps (iOS/Android).
