chasmlol/SkyCraft
Play Skyrim as a Minecraft player: Minecraft physics, inventory, blocks and combat inside Skyrim's world (SKSE plugin + Fabric mod).
What it solves
SkyCraft allows players to experience the world of Skyrim using the physics, inventory, and building mechanics of Minecraft. It bridges two separate games so that you can place blocks, mine terrain, and fight NPCs in Skyrim using Minecraft's logic and tools without rewriting either game.
How it works
The project uses a two-part system: a Skyrim SKSE plugin and a Minecraft Fabric mod. These two components communicate via shared memory. Minecraft runs hidden in the background to handle game logic, physics, and inventory, while Skyrim handles the world rendering, NPCs, quests, and saves. The system feeds Skyrim's collision data into Minecraft's physics engine and renders Minecraft's blocks and entities directly within Skyrim's visual frame.
Who it’s for
Gamers who own both Skyrim Special Edition (Anniversary Edition) and Minecraft: Java Edition and want a hybrid gameplay experience combining sandbox building with an open-world RPG.
Highlights
- Hybrid Physics: Move, jump, swim, and crouch in Skyrim using Minecraft's movement system.
- World Manipulation: Place, break, and mine blocks anywhere in Skyrim, creating real holes that affect NPCs and items.
- Combat Integration: Attack Skyrim NPCs with Minecraft weapons; damage scales to NPC levels, and NPCs can fight back or be affected by lava and fire.
- Skill Progression: Minecraft activities train Skyrim skills (e.g., using swords trains One-Handed, crouching trains Sneak).
- Multiplayer: Supports up to 100 players via the Minecraft side, allowing friends to share a building world while maintaining their own separate Skyrim quests and NPCs.
