A beautiful, local-first game library built for Omarchy.

What it solves

Omakade is a unified game library manager for Linux, designed to bring together games from multiple sources—including Steam, Lutris, Heroic, RetroArch, and various emulators—into a single, visually focused interface. It eliminates the need to switch between different launchers to browse and launch your game collection.

How it works

Omakade scans for installed games across various platforms and launchers (e.g., Steam, GOG, Battle.net) and reads their data without modifying the original launcher's databases. It provides a centralized hub where games are presented as cover art tiles. It integrates with the following:

  • Launchers: Steam, Lutris, Heroic, Faugus, Battle.net, and direct GOG installations.
  • Emulators: RetroArch, PCSX2, Ryujinx, Cemu, shadPS4, and Dolphin.
  • Metadata & Artwork: Integrates with IGDB for ratings and game details, SteamGridDB for portrait covers, and supports local custom artwork.
  • Streaming: Exports app lists to Sunshine, allowing games to be launched via Moonlight.

Who it’s for

Linux gamers who use multiple launchers and launchers-agnostic emulators, particularly those on the Omarchy or Arch Linux distributions, who want a cohesive, controller-friendly "Couch Mode" for their living room setup.

Highlights

  • Unified Library: Aggregates games from Steam, Lutris, Heroic, GOG, and emulators into one view.
  • Couch Mode: A controller-first interface with on-screen search and grid views.
  • Rich Metadata: Optional IGDB ratings, popularity sorting, and Steam achievements.
  • Artwork Customization: Support for SteamGridDB and manual user-selected covers and logos.
  • Handoff Launching: Launches games through their original owning platform to maintain compatibility and controller settings.
  • Playtime Tracking: An optional session recorder that monitors emulator processes to track playtime for games that don't natively support it.
