49 Agents IDE is designed to eliminate the friction of managing multiple terminal tabs, SSH connections, and disparate AI assistant windows. It replaces the traditional tabbed interface with a zoomable 2D canvas, allowing developers to organize their workspace across multiple machines and devices without needing toC SSH into each one individually.

How it works

The project uses a relay system where a 49-agent is installed on each machine you wish to connect. These agents connect to a central relay (which can be self-hosted or cloud-hosted) via WebSockets. This allows you to access your terminals, files, and AI status from any browser-based interface on any device, while ensuring that terminal I/O is relayed rather than stored server-side.
