What it solves

SOUL.md provides a structured framework for creating a "soul file"—a set of markdown files that capture a person's unique identity, worldview, and writing style. This allows AI agents to not just talk about a person, but to think and speak as that person, enabling the scaling of a personal brand or the creation of atext-based digital twin.

How it works

The system uses a set of markdown templates (SOUL.md, STYLE.md, MEMORY.md) to define a persona. Users can build their soul file in three ways:

1. Automated Analysis: By dropping raw data (tweets, essays, notes) into a data/ folder, an agent can analyze the content to extract patterns and draft the soul files.
2. Interview Mode: An agent interviews the user to extract their opinions and worldview from scratch.
3. Manual Entry: Users fill out the templates directly.

Once created, these files can be loaded by any LLM or agent framework (such as Aeon, OpenClaw, or Claude Code) to embody the persona. For weaker models, the content can be pasted directly into the system prompt.
