Torsion-Audio/Scyclone

Real-time Neural Timbre Transfer

What it solves

Scyclone is an audio plugin designed for audio production, allowing users to transfer the timbre (the unique quality of a sound) from one audio signal to another using neural networks. This enables the creation of richer drum palettes, fuller atmospheres, and the transformation of raw signals into different sound palettes.

How it works

The plugin utilizes neural timbre transfer technology based on the RAVE (Realtime Audio Variational Autoencoder) methodology. It supports both single and couple inference modes. To give users more control over the sound, it includes integrated signal processing modules:

  • Pre-processing: A Transient Controller for shaping attack and sustain, and Low-/High-Cut Filters to refine the frequency range.
  • Post-processing: A Grain Delay for adding texture, a Blend control for crossfading between model outputs, and a Post-Compressor for dynamics control.

Who it’s for

It is designed for music producers and sound designers who want to use AI-driven timbre transfer to create new sounds and textures in their DAW (Digital Audio Workstation).

Highlights

  • Real-time neural audio synthesis: Based on the RAVE architecture for high-quality, fast synthesis.
  • Pre-trained models: Includes presets for "Funk Drums" (trained on vintage drum-breaks) and "Djembe" (trained on Djembe performances).
  • Integrated signal chain: Combines AI inference with traditional audio processing tools like filters and compressors.
  • Custom training: Users can train their own RAVE models via a separate guide.
