resend/resend-mcp

The official MCP server to send emails and interact with Resend

What it solves

This project provides a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that allows AI agents (such as Claude, Cursor, and Windsurf) to interact directly with the Resend email platform. It eliminates the need for manual email management by enabling agents to send, receive, and manage email infrastructure using natural language commands.

How it works

The server acts as a bridge between an MCP-compatible AI client and the Resend API. It can be deployed in two ways:

  1. Remote Server: A hosted version managed by Resend that connects via HTTP/OAuth or API keys.
  2. Local Server: An open-source package that can be run locally via npx or as a library, supporting both stdio (standard input/output) and HTTP transport modes.

Once connected, the AI agent gains access to a suite of tools that map to Resend's platform features.

Who it’s for

Developers and AI agent users who use Resend for email delivery and want to integrate their email workflows—such as sending broadcasts, managing contacts, and verifying domains—directly into their AI-powered IDEs or chat interfaces.

Highlights

  • Comprehensive Email Control: Full access to sending emails, managing templates, and tracking delivery metrics.
  • Crm-like Capabilities: Tools for managing contacts, audience segments, and subscription topics.
  • Infrastructure Management: Ability to verify sender domains, manage API keys, and configure webhooks.
  • Campaign Management: Tools to create and manage broadcast campaigns and automations.
  • Flexible Deployment: Supports both a zero-config hosted remote server and a self-hosted local server.
