Eynzof/Hermes-CN-Desktop
Hermes Agent CN desktop app, Windows-First, built with Tauri, Typescript and Rust. Isolated Hermes Agent core insides.
What it solves
Hermes Agent CN Desktop provides a native desktop experience for the Hermes Agent, moving beyond a simple web dashboard. It simplifies the installation and management of the AI agent runtime, providing a secure and integrated environment for Windows and macOS users to interact with AI agents.
How it works
Built with Tauri v2, Rust, React, and TypeScript, the application acts as a desktop shell. It manages the local Hermes Agent kernel (runtime), handling installation, updates, and health checks. It uses a Rust-based proxy layer to handle REST and WebSocket communications securely, bypassing WebView limitations and managing authentication.
Who it’s for
Users on Windows and macOS who want a low-barrier, native desktop application to run and manage AI agents, specifically those within the Hermes Agent Chinese community ecosystem.
Highlights
- Low-barrier installation: One-click installation for Windows and macOS with pre-bundled runtime.
- Agent-centric UI: Integrated support for chat, streaming output, MCP tools, Skills, Memory, and LaTeX/Mermaid rendering.
- Broad model support: Compatible with cloud providers and local deployment options like Ollama, vLLM, and llama.cpp.
- YOLO mode: A high-risk operation switch that allows the agent to execute dangerous commands automatically after a second confirmation.
- Lightweight architecture: Uses system WebViews via Tauri to keep installation packages small.
- Production-grade transport: Rust-based proxy for secure REST and WebSocket relaying.
