kirodotdev/powers
Powers add specialized context and tools to the Kiro agents on-demand. No more MCP context overload.
What it solves
Kiro powers provide a collection of specialized tools and workflows that enhance the capabilities of AI agents. They bridge the gap between general-purpose LLMs and specific technical domains—such as AWS infrastructure, cloud migration, observability platforms, and payment gateways—by giving agents the necessary context, API access, and best-practice guidelines to perform complex development tasks.
How it works
Each "power" is a bundle of capabilities that integrates with AI agents via Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers. These servers allow agents to execute real-time API calls, access specialized documentation, and follow "Agent SOPs" (Standard Operating Procedures). Some powers are implemented as full MCP servers (available via Docker or HTTPS), while others are "Knowledge Base Powers" that provide the agent with specific domain expertise without requiring a live server.
Who it’s for
This project is primarily for developers and DevOps engineers who use AI agents to automate cloud infrastructure management, migrate legacy codebases, build serverless applications, or integrate third-party APIs like Stripe and Datadog.
Highlights
- AWS Ecosystem Integration: Extensive support for AWS services including Bedrock AgentCore, CDK, Lambda, Step Functions, and HealthOmics.
- Cloud Migration Tools: Specialized powers for migrating between Arm SoCs, moving from GCP to AWS, and upgrading legacy frameworks (e.g., COBOL to Java).
- Observability Suite: Integration with Datadog, Dynatrace, and AWS CloudWatch for production debugging and performance analysis.
- Third-Party API Connectivity: Pre-built integrations for payment processors (Stripe, Checkout.com), database providers (Neon), and automation platforms (Zapier).
